Ubisoft Exec Reports Weird Red Steel Info

Gosh if it wasn't enough to have Nintendo torture us day in and day out with news that could go so many ways that our brains will explode, it seems Ubisoft wants to do the exact same thing. IN an interview with a Ubisoft exectutive they had this to say about 4 player splitscreen multiplayer: In Red Steel, you’ll have up to four players [in the multiplayer mode]. If they play together in split screens we can only say that the fight will not be only on screen (grins). - Nicolas Eypert, Creative Director of Red Steel Woah woah just hold on there a minute. This is a very interesting indeed. First of all let's go over the first part of the second sentence. "If they play together in splitscreens...". Now that already is an extremely interesting way of putting this. What do you mean if. YOu'd only say "if" if there was another thing besides that. So he's is saying if you choose to play splitscreen which means there is another choice. Is this a possible confirmation of online multiplayer. Ubisoft announced it originally but soon disappeared like many things. I think that is very interesting and you take it for what it's worth in your own thoughts. And secondly the second part. Now this can be taken a number of ways. The first way is that maybe possibly because of the interaction with the controller that because on splitscreen there will be 4 people in the room that people will be literally hitting each other when playing. So the battle will not be on screen. Or you can take it the other way. What if the battle on screen really was taken off screen through a visor, augmented reality, or 3d projector. Could this guy be hinting at more 3d immersion speculation. We can only hope. Very intersting comments indeed. More on the Wii and Red Steel soon hopefully. http://gonintendo.com/?p=3776 Zucas

Acually, the third interesting part of his comment is that he said "split screens", he broke the word up into two. Normally, it's just splitscreen. Meaning ONE screen split into two, three or four. But in breaking that word up, "split screens", it could be alluding to visors.
