SEGA Speaks About Sonic Wild Fire in OMN

In the latest issue of the Official Nintendo Magazine they interviews Sega and they talked about the next gen Wii version of Sonic: Sonic Wild Fire. Here is some details they spoke about: Development for Sonic Wild Fire has essentially been going on for two years, this year developing, last year testing. As expected, the game is based off of Arabian Nights, and will follow Sonic’s adventures through a book. We saw some of the influence of Arabian Nights in our E3 demo. Dr. Eggman will be in the game. Progression on Sonic Wild Fire and the Wiimote is going well, but more uses of the Wiimote than what was shown at E3 will be included. There will also be gameplay elements in Wild Fire that have never been seen in a Sonic game before. Mr. Yojiro is very happy with the power of the Wii, and believes it is “fantastic hardware”. Mr. Yojiro would like to create an entirely new series for the Wii that is not related to Sonic at all. He would like this title to take full advantage of all that the Wiimote has to offer. Sonic Wild Fire is all about going back to the roots of the Sonic series. Speed is the name of the game. Just some more details but it's been in production for 2 years. Makes you wonder how long Sega has known about the points on Wii and it's controller. But they did state that they weren't caught off guard by the Wii and this definetly proves it. Seems like Nintend and Sega relations are getting really good. And wow will follow kinda like Arabian Knights. Sounds interesting. And the demo kinda lacked detailed controls so glad to see it will incorporate some more stuff. And yea for the return of Eggman. Can't have a Sonic game without Eggman. Haha and once again another developer denies the fact of the Wii being limited hardware wise. And I would love to see an entire new series. Gimme more haha. But yea the Sonic games have been lacking lately. Not a good sonic game since Sonic Adventure 2. So I hope they are bringing the fast pace back as it used to be. That's what it was all about. Well glad to hear this game is progressing nicely and will probably be a game I want to pick up early. http://www.codenamerevolution.com/?p=1251 Zucas
