These were left by Brain on another site so putting them here. Thx Brain for the comments:

Is Spaceworld 2006 (if that’s what it’s called) going to be a reality since its rumored nintendo won’t be at TGS, and what can we expect from them there?

1. What Wii/PS3 launch game are you most excited about?

2. What do we know so far about the Wii’s online service (I just hope they don’t use something similar to friend codes on the ds)?

Also since I forgot to answer questions from this post for Episode 4 in the last podcast I'll answer all of them in this podcast so they won't feel left out. Unless they had to do with something that has already occured then I may have to miss it but I'll acknowledge it.

IGN recently confirmed that Halo 3 is launching in March of 2007. Is this the right time to launch this game? Will Nintendo or Sony be able to counter? What effects will this have on all three of the companies' sales and popularity with consumers? Should Nintendo and Sony even be worried at all?

Me and my girlfriend lin brill are actually both harcore gamers. Between me and my girlfriend and my friend chet tompkins we play over a hundred hours of gaming a week in my attic.

That being said as my intro, you can tell im a hardcore deeko carbone.

My question is will Nintendo revolution go into more of a mature nature rather than a younger nature this time around. We all know the kids games will be there as well as mature, but will mature games dominate this time around, or will it be the kids games again?

DaleDude said...

IGN has also stated the Revolution's specs to be just about equal or a bit more powerfull than the original Xbox. Will this be a problem for Nintendo? For developers? What is your price estimate on the Revolution now that this has been revealed? Is this the right amount of power, or too little? Will games suffer becuase of lack of power to fully implement the Revolution's controller or other new features into games?

Will revolution reach a million users in a shorter time than the DS hit for online play?

Hi :)

How will revolution technical specs effect it? Or will it not be that big of a deal?

A few questions or discussion points...

1. Why does the 360 do so badly in Japan given the extra effort put in? And in some ways, hasnt caught on fire in Europe too? Will there be a surge in 360 sales when the killer apps start hitting market in late 2006 and early 2007?

2. What's the podcast team's analysis on the still strong ps2 sales? Does this indicate ps3 will sell just as many? Does it indicate a lack of faith still overall with 'next-gen' (including ps3) given all the hiked prices and so far still last-gen graphics/gameplay?

3. To the best of your abilities, with all the information you have, and the guesswork, explain exactly how the Nintendo Wii's online will most likely work and all the related in depth details about what to expect from it, what type of innovations in Online multiplayer etc that Nintendo could be cooking up.

4. If for some reason either or both the ps3 and wii suffer fairly bad launch and post-launch problems, and/or there are a lack of quality games for them, will the 360 actually suddenly become THE console that everyone (including Japan) buys like mad? What would Japan do in that situation, actually buy big on 360 making it #1 or would the Japanese stick with ps2, psp and ds?

5. Last-gen, Sony redesigned their ps2 halfway thru the era, included stuff in it and made it slimmer, possibly to also make extra sales....will this happen at all this next-gen by either sony, nintendo, or ms? And if so, which one would seem most likely, and what would they update? How would the market would react differently from console to console?

Haha. Good luck answering all of these in one podcast...Maybe you should do a strictly questions feature? And I think it would be great to include everyone on the staff in all of the podcasts kind of like how ign does. It makes for a more diverse collection of point of views.

Great questions. Here are a few from me(and maybe a little speculation):

A redesign I think is definitely possible in early late 08 for the Xbox 360. That way they can safely choose a next gen DVD drive for movies(if either succeed), include an HDMI port, wireless, or other small things.

Another question: Do you believe the rumor is true that the 360's current DVD drive will be able to accept quad-layer DVDs, which are being worked on right now?

Will Sony and Microsoft either create motion sensing controllers late this generation, or for next generation? Or will Microsoft remain on its stance against these type of controllers?

Do you believe that if the "X-boy" has a good roster of games, a HDD with alot of media capabilities, Live integration, and a reasonable price that it can succeed in maintaining a successful amount of sales throughout the next generation of portables?

Will Nintendo add media such as music, movies, and picture integration to the Wii ,or will Nintendo products forever stay entirely focused on games?

How do you think Activision and EA are going to deal with Goldeneye 007? If gamers push for it to be on Virtual Console or XBLA, will they figure out a way to work it out?

What and how many games will the Wii have available at launch? Since developers haven't been saying much about their old games on Virtual Console, will the initial lineup be entirely composed of first party titles like Mariokart, Zelda, Metroid, Super Mario Bros, etc or will there be a fair amount of popular third party titles like Killer Instincts and Rush 2049 available as well?

What if any unique ideas will come from PS3 online? Do you believe that it will be free or Sony will charge you one fee for unlimited online play?

What would you think of Guitar Hero 2 on Xbox 360? The developer hinted at it?

Will developers decide which console is most successful this generation, as they spelled doom for Nintendo's GC last generation?

And that is it!

I posted this over on moviecodec, but it will probably get more attention over here. That said, heres the suggestion I posted...

I think you should look into doing a podcast/article on HD-DVD and Blu-ray.

You could go over a few points like...

Is the included Blu-ray drive in the PS3 an advantage, or is the separate HD-DVD attachment a better way to go?

How have formats played a role in console wars in the past?

Are these formats hurting the console market by forcing unnecessary technology on consumers, or is this beneficial for both markets?

Do you think formats will play a role in future console wars?

There’s probably some more good ones, but I can’t think of any right now. The overall point is “How is the current format war affecting the current console war?".

I'm not sure if you guys should do a podcast on it since I think it would come out better as an article. Anyway, if you are going to do an article or whatever on it, respond on moviecodec.
